“ We played our last Americantology sermon the other night. Tom brown from
the Courant was here with us as we lit our last cigars and remembered Capt
Letendre, LCpl Dechen, Cpl Pierson, and LCpl Cosgrove. They were the spirit
of America. They were the reason we created Americantology as they loved
America. We all love our country and what it stands for. From the Rocky Mountains
and Mount Rushmore to the Grand Canyon and the Alamo. Great Americans, who
became icons and made a difference like George Washington, Wyatt Earp, Harriet
Tubman and John Wayne, set the stage for Americanism.”

For Love of Country
Marine Capt. Brian S. Letendre, 27, a Virginia native who lived in New Britain for 18 months, was killed in combat in Al Anbar province on May 3, 2006, on his second tour of duty in Iraq. He left a wife and 3-year-old son. He was a member of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines.
Marine Lance Corporal Kurt Edward Dechen of Springfield, VT, 24, died Thursday, August 3, 2006, in Fallujah, Iraq while serving his Country in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a member of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines.
Marine Corporal Jordan C. Pierson of Milford, 21, died Aug. 25, 2006 from hostile gunfire while defending our freedom on a foot patrol, in Fallujah, Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was a member of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines.
Marine Lance Corporal Christopher B. Cosgrove III of Cedar Knolls, NJ, 23, died in Iraq on October 1, 2006. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Reserves with G Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines, based at Picatinny Arsenal. Earlier this year, he and other Marines were activated to serve with the 1st Battalion, 25th Marines from Connecticut to Iraq. He was days away from coming home.
